Enlisting
How a wallet becomes a pilot: connect → sign → register → callsign, and what the hangar hands over when it does.
It takes about a minute, costs nothing, and does not touch the chain.
The four steps
Connect. Your wallet asks whether you want to share your address with SORTIE. Nothing is spent and nothing is authorized. If you are not on Robinhood Chain yet, the panel adds the network for you.
Sign. Your wallet shows a short message naming you and a one-time code. Signing it proves the address is yours. This is a signature, not a transaction: no gas, no transfer, no approval.
Register. The hangar creates your account and deals your starting kit.
Callsign. The name other pilots see. Three to sixteen characters, letters, digits, dash and underscore.
What you start with
| Airframe | AF-01 Interceptor, ready to fly |
| Pilot | one, from a randomly assigned island school |
| Cards | 5, drawn from the drop pool |
Your five cards come from your wallet address, not from the clock. The same wallet always draws the same five, and two pilots registering in the same second do not get the same hand. It is dealt once, and registering again will not deal another five.
You are not starting from nothing beyond that. Your airframe and your pilot each grant cards permanently, so you can build a legal deck on day one and start earning more.
The wallet is the account
Your hangar lives at your address rather than in one browser, so any device holding the wallet reaches the same hangar. There is no password to lose and no email to confirm.
Signing in on a new device signs the old one out. That is deliberate for an account anchored to a wallet: only one device at a time holds the session.
Callsigns
Names are unique across the whole roster and matched without regard to case, so Vector and vector are one name. Whoever claims it keeps the capitalization they typed.
Once claimed, a callsign cannot currently be changed. Choose one you will still like.
A wallet is required
There is no anonymous way in. Without a wallet extension, or with one you have not connected, you stop at the enlistment panel.
One exception: if the hangar is unreachable, the door opens anyway. Being offline is a different problem from not being enlisted, and the screen behind explains the real one.
A match already in progress is never gated. If you are flying and reload the page, you go back to the fight, not to a sign-up form.
Common problems
No wallet popup. Check that the extension is unlocked and that the site is not blocked in its connected-sites list.
"that callsign is taken". Someone holds that name, possibly in a different case. Pick another; nothing else about your registration was lost.
Signature rejected or timed out. The signing code expires after five minutes and is single-use. Start the sign-in again to get a fresh one.
Wrong hangar. Check which account is selected in your wallet. The hangar follows the address.
Not yet
- Callsigns cannot be changed once claimed.
- Registration mints nothing on chain. It is free and off-chain by design. See Your wallet for the parts that do cost something.
